I didn’t plan on rebuilding my life more than once—but adversity has a way of sharpening purpose.
Before getting my real estate license, I had always been intrigued by the industry—especially on the investment side. However, when we purchased a spa, I decided to take the leap and earn my real estate license as a second stream of income—something practical and strategic. What I didn’t expect was that real estate would soon become my full-time career, and the work I feel most called to do.

My path to entrepreneurship started in my late twenties after a major setback. When the economy crashed in 2009, I was working as a diesel mechanic when I was laid off following a motocross accident that left me physically incapacitated. I assumed the recovery would be quick, but it wasn’t. It was a humbling, difficult chapter that forced me to rethink everything.
Fitness had always been part of my life, so I shifted into personal training, slowly building a client base, and learning what it meant to truly work for myself. Over time, I specialized in corrective exercise, and entrepreneurship became less about survival and more about purpose. I learned discipline, resilience, and how to serve people in a way that genuinely improved their lives.

My personal life also shifted in a beautiful way when, after a decade of friendship, Meghan and I began dating. We had known each other for years—long enough that neither of us expected romance—but something changed. What started as a solid, enduring friendship turned into something deeper. We got married not long after and soon found ourselves expecting our first child. Life felt stable, full, and aligned.
That foundation led me to my next leap: opening a brick-and-mortar automated wellness spa. We offered services centered around well-being—red light therapy, saunas, massage, and recovery-focused treatments. Motivated by that momentum, I earned my real estate license in 2015. At the time, I balanced both worlds, viewing real estate as a long-term investment play alongside our business.

Then COVID hit.
Almost overnight, the spa business collapsed, and we were forced to close our doors. What followed was an incredibly stressful period filled with financial pressure and complex legal battles with the landlord. It was overwhelming, uncertain, and humbling all over again.

In that season, I leaned hard into my faith. I trusted that somehow, we would be okay. And that’s when real estate stepped forward—not as a side project, but as my primary focus. I transitioned fully into serving clients, growing my business, and building something sustainable for my family. What once felt like a backup plan became the work I now pour myself into completely.
Today, I’m driven by service, integrity, and the lessons learned from rebuilding more than once. Outside of work, my greatest joy is my family. I spend as much time as I can with my children—Jaxon (11), Makenzy (10), and Braxton (8). I’m regularly at their soccer games and maintain an active lifestyle with camping, golf, motocross, and exercise, including riding bikes together. I just recently was appointed as president of a nonprofit for young men, teaching both trade skills and core values like discipline, responsibility, and respect for women.

Faith and family are my foundations. Real estate is how I serve—grounded in resilience, gratitude, and the belief that even the hardest chapters can lead to meaningful work and a life built with intention.
With 11 years of experience in real estate, I’m known for clear, consistent communication and a deeply service-oriented approach. I take the time to truly listen to my clients and remain highly responsive, returning calls and texts promptly and keeping them informed at every stage of the process. No client should ever feel ignored or left in the dark. I’m also a natural problem solver and have built a trusted network of vetted vendors who can address virtually any real estate need.
When challenges arise, my priority is to resolve the issue immediately, so my clients feel calm and supported. I’m hands-on by nature and often go beyond traditional REALTOR® duties—whether that means making small repairs, painting, landscaping, or pressure cleaning a home. This comes from my faith and my genuine desire to serve. I find true fulfillment in helping buyers and sellers reach their goals while making the journey as smooth as possible.
Sincerely,

Joel Silverthorn
